Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer

The much-anticipated trailer for the second Avengers film – Age of Ultron – has officially been released, after it was leaked one week shy of its intended date. However instead of complaining about the trailer being leaked, Marvel did the adult thing and released their own Official HD version…and blamed the leak on villainous world organisation HYDRA.

Fans of the Marvel franchise probably know by now that the main antagonist for the film is the artificially intelligent android Ultron, but it is only in this trailer that we really see how terrifying the character is. Along with the soothing-yet-merciless iconic voice of James Spader, fans worldwide will now know that Age of Ultron is going to be a step up from the previous film. Avengers Assemble saw the villain Loki drawn into war mostly by bitterness, but he was a character that had the chance to change his actions along the way. Ultron on the other hand has one goal: world domination, and nothing less.

With Marvel releasing Ant-Man next year it appears that Hank Pym will not be Ultron’s creator as he was in the comics, but rather Tony Stark instead. It is hard to take much from this short teaser trailer, as it seems to mainly introduce the villain and his helpers; Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch. What we do know is that the Avengers – being Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye – are all back to save the world from any possible threat.

However a lot has changed since the first film; most of the characters have evolved through their other films, such as Tony Stark in Iron Man 3, and S.H.I.E.L.D has also been disbanded, as we saw in The Winter Soldier. Director Joss Whedon has said that it is going to be a lot like the The Godfather Part 2, in that a lot has happened since the previous film and throughout Age of Ultron we will find out what that is.

By the end of the trailer we are greeted to a fully functional Ultron who is explaining through a quote from the Pinnochio song ‘I’ve Got No Strings’ that he is not bound by anything and is free to do as he wishes.

We should all be very afraid.

New Avengers Added To Age Of Ultron

At the moment every bit of new information about Avengers: Age of Ultron gets me more excited, and lets me know that the day when I can actually view the film is getting ever closer. Recently the new bits of information are of more avengers being added to the film.

The first new characters – which were actually announced a few weeks ago – are the super-fast Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his sister, the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) who uses hexes to cause explosions, create force fields, burn objects, deflect magic attacks and stop the momentum of bullets or missiles. The Scarlet Witch is a vital part in the story, as she is one of the only Avengers who has a chance against the robotic Ultron. The pair are the children of the master of magnetism, Magneto; and are therefore also being featured in this years X-Men: Days of Future Past film, but with different actors playing them.

quickSome of the best news about the 2015 Avengers sequel to come out recently is also another character being added to the line-up. The Vision (being played by Paul Bettany) is finally going to be seen on the screen; he definitely deserves it as The Vision is one of the most famous Avengers. In the comic books, after Hank Pym (Ant-Man) creates Ultron and he turns against him, Ultron then creates an android with the power to fire beams of radiation and infrared and posses’ the power of flight and super-human strength; called The Vision. However he betrays Ultron and joins The Avengers. Whether this is what Joss Whedon is planning, we don’t know yet; especially with the story line of Ultron’s creation being changed. As most fans will know, the actor playing The Vision is also the voice of Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S artificial intelligence system, so that may factor into the story line.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Joss Whedon’s Comic-Con interview has sent Marvel fans wild as he explained who will be the primary villain for the sequel to 2012’s superhero blockbuster, Avengers Assemble.

It has been revealed that the villain will be non-other than Ultron, one of Marvel’s biggest villains, and the film will be named Avengers: Age of Ultron.ultron

Ultron has played a vital part in the Marvel universe, constantly popping up to battle with The Avengers over the years. He is a robot, which was created by Dr. Hank Pym (Ant Man), who instead of obeying his creator, decided to rebel and pledge a mission to destroy the entire human race. Although a robot, Ultron does have a human conscience, and is also highly intellectual, that, mixed with his terrifying, metallic suit and mask, makes him a villain worthy of the next Avengers film. What is also great about the introduction of Ultron is that, in the original origins, he creates his own android named Vision, who is one of the most famous Avengers from the comics, and teams up with the group after switching sides.

However the origin of Ultron is going to differ greatly from that of the comic books, for example he will not be created by Dr. Hank Pym, because Edgar Wright’s ‘Ant-Man’ is not going to be released until after Avengers 2. So another origin for Ultron is going to be written, perhaps one which includes Tony Stark’s discard of his Arc Reactor, some rumours are saying.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be released in 2015.

Avengers Assemble

There has been a dream which every Marvel comic book fan has dreamt of ever since they were young, for the greatest team of the comic book world to be a reality…that dream has almost come true.

Joss Whedon has brought to the silver screen what could possibly be the biggest superhero film of our time. A film which includes not only some of comic book fans favourite heroes but also thanks to Hollywood, film fans favourites as well. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk and Black Widow have been in some of the biggest superhero films of the last 10 years and ‘The Avengers’ brings them all together, including Hawkeye and Nick Fury, who are well known characters in the Marvel universe.

‘Avengers Assemble’ brings back the villain of ‘Loki’ from previous film ‘Thor’, who hatches a plan to take over the world and reign supreme over all humanity. Thankfully Nick Fury assembles the Avengers to try and foil his plot, however not all of the team are willing to cooperate at first which leads to a struggle for the heroes to become a team.

The film delivers our heroic characters in all their glory once again, Thor’s god-like booming voice, Captain America’s Role of command and Iron Man’s quirky personality. However since the film was put on the cards many fans have been wondering whether or not it will live up to the comic book origins, the answer is yes and no. The film delivers the heroes the way we know them best, giving us fast paced action , super human abilities and classic comic quotes such as when Captain America says to Hulk “Hulk…smash”. However there are few things missing from the film, such as Giant Man/Ant Man and Wasp who were two of the original Avengers, also there is one major aspect that the film did not bring forth which is that when we see Bruce Banner change in to the Hulk there is no heart pounding music and we don’t see him change like in the earlier Hulk films, where it was done so well.

Joss Whedon

Avengers Assemble stars Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlatt Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Samuel. L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Tom Hiddleston as Loki. It was directed by Joss Whedon who brought us Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Serenity and The Cabin in the Woods.

The film ties together all the previous super hero films like Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and The Incredible Hulk which, if watched back all have aspects of the other heroes in them and certain characters who pop up in them all, including of course cameos by Stan Lee.

Comic book fans and film lovers alike will enjoy this film and there is a possibility of a sequel down the line, as we get a sneak peek at the end of the film. It has been a while in the making but the efforts of Joss Whedon have paid off…”If we can’t save the earth…you can be damn sure we’ll avenge it.”

The origin of ‘Avengers Assemble’:

Captain America: The First Avenger- At the end of the film the Captain is unfrozen into the 20th century to an anxious Nick Fury who is proposing a mission.

Iron Man- Nick Fury visits Tony Stark at home and explains that he is “not the only superhero in the world” and wants to discuss the “Avengers Initiative”.

The Incredible Hulk- At the end of the film Tony Stark visits General Ross whilst he is drinking in a bar and explains that he is “putting together a team”.

Iron Man 2- Agent Coulson (who appeared in Iron Man) from S.H.I.E.L.D reports the discovery of a large hammer (Thor’s) in the New Mexico desert.

Thor- ‘Selvig’ (the scientist throughout the film) is taken to S.H.I.E.L.D and is asked to study the Tesseract (the powerful blue cube from Captain America) by Nick Fury.

The Avengers…assemble.
